Lynx

A data gathering planet that collects, validates, and distributes external data across the galaxy.

STATUS: MVP2 ARCHITECTURE DECISIONSLAST UPDATED: 2026-06-07

Lynx is the ecosystem's data gathering and validation planet (the Observatory function) on port 5002, isolated from finance and operator systems by design. The Midnight/Indigo theme signals its distinct identity — a place where external data is collected (raw zone), validated (verified zone), and distributed as operational exports. Named Lynx for the constellation; data-gathering mission established per the ADR-015 galaxy narrative.

Overview

Lynx is the ecosystem's data gathering and validation layer on port 5002. It collects external data in a raw zone, validates it through a verified zone, and distributes operational exports — isolated from finance and operator systems by design.

Architecture

A Next.js application operating within the ecosystem's shared UI framework (@mheepeem/ui). It implements the specialized "Midnight/Emerald" theme to visually signal its identity as the data gathering layer and is strictly isolated on port 5002.

Problem It Solves

Allowing raw, unvalidated external data to flow directly into financial (Ledger) or operator (Hub) systems creates data quality and integrity risks. Lynx isolates that data through staged raw and verified zones before releasing it as operational exports.

Current State

In Progress. Port 5002 is reserved and the Midnight/Emerald theme contract is established; the data gathering, validation, and operational-export pipeline is under active development.
